Sunday Children's PlayShop

Children's PlayShop
Children are warmly invited to join Children’s PlayShop on the first Sunday of every month. While parents enjoy meditation in the Eurythmy Room, children are welcome to enjoy meditation and spiritual teachings, engage in crafts and artful activities, and play in a nearby classroom. Kids up to age twelve are welcome. For kids under three years of age, please let us know in advance that you will be attending. Parents, please also let us know in advance of any food allergies so we may have healthy, delicious snacks and drinks for all kids. Please email Karuna at marylacyporter@gmail.com or Shraddha at lucyhagan@aol.com. The first time your kids attend Children’s Playshop, please arrive by 10:50 a.m. to complete an intake form.

Our Sunday Morning Meditation will feature an inclusive reading of the Sermon on the Mount. We will also begin the New Year with a sacred water ceremony, blessing and renewing ourselves. Be graced with a healing, refreshing, sacred start to the New Year! If you attend on Zoom, we invite you to have a little cup of water with you to be blessed.

Join us for our JOY-filled Tree Trimming. You're invited to energize and activate your deepest prayers and highest intentions! As we've done in the past, we will be decorating our community Christmas tree with a paper chain of your intentions and prayers. This year, those who will be joining us online are invited to share their intentions and prayers via email to Swami@awakeyogameditation.org by Friday, December 6th. All prayers and intentions will be joined together into a garland that will decorate the tree and bless one and all.

You are warmly invited to join us in meditation at 11 AM ET on Sunday, November 3, as we celebrate 50 years of pure love and radiance through the teachings of Swami Shankarananda. Since its founding on November 3, 1974, our meditation community has fostered connection, joy, and spiritual growth. This anniversary is a beautiful time to refresh your energy, deepen your meditation, and reconnect with your spiritual purpose.

For those joining in person, we will debut a special film featuring heartfelt reflections from community participants on meditation, Kriya yoga, Karma yoga, and the inspiration of Swami Shankarananda and Swami Nityananda. Afterward, join us as we continue the celebration with a potluck reception. All are invited to bring a delicious, healthy, ready-to-serve dish to share with our community.

In the words of Swami Shankarananda, “Apply that light of spiritual discernment to every situation that I call imperfect, to every experience when I want to judge it as bad. Bring the spotlight in the midst of a weakness, pain, a feeling of conflict.” Let this be a time to expand in magnificent pure love and celebrate the joy within you. You are the pure love of the universe, here as you!
